International Bear Rendezvous-IBR (Fundraiser) (This is a past event.) Owned by: Bears of San Francisco website: www.bosf.org/ bearrendezvous/ index.htm starts: 11 February 2010 until 15 February 2010 time: N/A The International Bear Rendezvous is an annual gathering of bears and bear-lovers held in San Francisco. It is hosted by the Bears of San Francisco, who conceived of Rendezvous as a weekend of fun and fund raising. The event fosters a sense of community among participants while at the same time raising money for agencies serving the gay and HIV communities at the local, state, and national level. Fund raising is accomplished primarily through raffles, auctions, and direct donations from participants and the community. This 16th Edition of IBR was one of the most well organized and well put together of them all. Fresh ideas and new acts were the highlights of this year.

This was another award winning production from the Bears of San Francisco. The new host hotel was fantastic and hopefully they won’t become greedy like the last hotel did. The poor economy did appear to take affect on the size of the crowd this year, which may affect the overall amount of the money collected for this years charities, but it didn’t affect the thrills and spills that make IBR everything it is and always has been. Perhaps for upcoming years the BOSF could negotiate a better rate on parking at the host hotel. All in all GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!
